James “Jimmy” Daley Blount, 94, of West, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at North Union Church with burial at North Union Cemetery in West, Mississippi. Rev. Wayne Downs will officiate the services.

Jimmy was born on March 30, 1931, to John N. Blount and Roberta Harper Blount in Water Valley, Mississippi. He married the love of his life, Louise Nichols Blount, on August 9, 1954. Jimmy worked at Sheller Globe, ATAPCO, and later retired from Globe Weis in 1995. Jimmy was a member of North Union Church. He was an avid reader and loved western novels, working outside, and spending time with family.

Jimmy will always be remembered as a loving son, a father with the sweetest soul and smile, and grandfather/papaw. He never met a stranger and will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Jimmy is survived by his son, James (Scooter/Jennifer)) Blount of West, Mississippi; daughters, Melinda (Paul) Cauley of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Lisa Sanders, Elizabeth “Libby” Levingston of West, Mississippi, Lea (Billy) McCool of West, Mississippi, Leslie (Kade) Atwood of Kosciusko, Mississippi; grandchildren, Hope Lowe, Paula Collins, D.J. (Amie) Blount, Kayla Sanders, Michael (Jessica) Sanders, Benjamin Harman, Jonathon Harman, Hunter Harman, Andrew McCool, Alex McCool, Lyndell (Cayla) Suratt, and Hannah (Ty) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Macie Collins, Maddy Collins, Parker K. Blount, Haylee Sanders, Bentley Sanders, Knox Allen, Elizabeth (Liza Jayne) Johnson, Lucy Louise Johnson, and Emmy Ryan Lee; and his BEST canine friend, Lady.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John N. Blount and Roberta Harper, wife of 64 years, Louise Nichols Blount, sons-in-law, Allen Sanders, George Levingston, and Trey Collins, and one grandchild, Michelle Blount.

Serving as pallbearers are Charles Curry, Michael Sanders, D. J. Blount, Jonathon Harman, Lyndell Suratt, Ty Johnson, Hunter Harman, and Alex McCool.
