Eric Ames

HUDSON – Eric Theodore Ames, 53 of Hudson, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at his home. Eric was born on December 20, 1971, to Richard and Sandra (Bradshaw) Ames in Jackson, MI and was a lifelong resident of Hudson, Michigan. Eric spent most of his career as a correctional officer in Adrian, Michigan.
Eric loved spending time with his children Keegan and Annalyse. He enjoyed family, hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening and playing cards. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, Florida. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle and Reba Ames, Bernard and Norma Gutting, and two nieces Amanda Brown and Brittany Ames.
Eric is survived by his children Keegan and Annalyse Ames, parents Richard and Sandra Ames, siblings Janaee (David) Brown, Stanley (Bridget) Ames, Alisa (Alex) Fernandez, nieces Sarah Hussey (Chason), Emily Cole (Jonathan) and nephews Broderick Ames and Gavriel Fernandez, great nieces and nephews Janaee Brown and Moxon Cole, Audrey Hussey and Maddox Hussey, and Gabriella Fernandez along with many cousins. Also, two uncles, Bruce (Karen) Timberman and Willie (Dawn) Gutting.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Willie and Dawn Gutting for all the wonderful love and care they have given Eric during this time.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 1-3 P.M. at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eric's memory to the Sacred Heart Schools or the Brittany Ames Scholarship Fund.
