Eric Donald Johnson, age 42, of Newaygo, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 4, 2024 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He was born on October 25, 1981 to Duane and Lori (Harrison) Johnson in Rochester, NY. Eric owned the Flying Bear Books and Creperie in downtown Newaygo. He was also on Newaygo City Council, and worked at True North. Eric and Krystal lived and raised their family in Newaygo. He was an amazing husband, father, and human being.
Eric is survived by his wife, Krystal; children, Trinity Johnson, Mariah Johnson, Maxxamillion Rogers, Alexandria Johnson, Endigo Johnson; parents, Duane and Lori Johnson; sisters, Melissa Fingland, Tracy (Will) Newhouse, Stephany Johnson, Jessica Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and a wonderful community.
He was preceded in death by sister, Sara Johnson.
Visitation will be held 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services - Newaygo, 226 State Road, Newaygo, Michigan 49337.
The Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services - Newaygo. There will also be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place in the Newaygo Cemetery.
There will be a luncheon to follow the burial at Loomis Lodge.
