Eric Robert Martin

Berkshire/Enosburgh – Eric Robert Martin a lifelong area resident passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, due to injuries from an automobile accident.

Born in St. Albans on March15, 1986, he was the son of Robert and Barbara (Laplant) Martin. Eric was 39 years old.

At a young age Eric had a love for the outdoors. He raced snowmobiles and four wheelers. He looked forward to winter and riding snowmobiles with his dad and his cousin, Jeffrey. He enjoyed hunting, maple sugar season and dirt bikes. He loved tinkering on his truck and was very mechanically inclined. Eric took great pride spending time with his two daughters, who loved the outdoors just as much. He loved all kinds of music. At the time of his death, he was employed by Duffy's Waste & Recycling.

Eric was a dedicated son, companion and father. He believed with every fiber in his being in 'family first' He was a man of integrity and took his role as father and provider very seriously! He also enjoyed each and every customer he encountered while working for Duffys.

Eric is survived by his parents, Robert and Barbara; his daughters, Avaeya and Avianna Martin and their mother and his longtime companion, Ashley LaPlante and her son, Ashton Ives; his sister, Brittany Martin and niece, Ariana Martin.

He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Nancy Martin; uncle, Kenneth (Doreen) Laplant; aunts, Sharon (Mike) Jedware, Diane (Larry) Stowe, Beverly Doe, Dawn (Steve) Jacobs and Sharon Martin, as well as many cousins, including a special cousin, Jeffrey Stowe, and Ashley's mom, Ann Teague and father, Shane (Shelly) LaPlante.

Eric was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Robert Martin; maternal grandparents, Shirley (Laplant) Taylor and Elmer Taylor and great grandparents, Lawrence and Leona Tipper and his uncle, Jamie Doe.

Eric's family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.

A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with family friend, John Gorton officiating.
