Eric McNutt

Eric Lee McNutt, 37, of Derby passed away Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. He graduated from Derby High School in 2005, where he excelled in art and won numerous competitions. He was voted Male Artist of the Year his senior year. After high school he attended Cowley County Community College and Butler County Community College where he was working towards an IT Certification.
Eric will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, caring person who was always willing to help others. His passion was building computers and connecting with friends through Gaming. He was very creative and enjoyed building custom furniture. He had a special love for animals and adopted his three beloved pets, Booger, Ivy, and Sheldon from the Humane Society.
He will be deeply missed and live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. Eric is survived by his Mother Debbie McNutt, Grandmothers Marva Newberry, and Lea Veach; Aunt Jeanne Warcholik (Ted), Cousin William David Windham; Uncle Steve Newberry (Alison), Cousins Jessica Newberry, Natalie Glanville (Austin), Ethan Newberry; Aunt Lisa Goings (William), Cousins Megan Kouratou (Nick), Chad Goings (Lauren), Grant Goings (Jaylin) and Special Friend, Azalea Tyson. Preceded in death by Father Ted McNutt; Grandfathers Eugene McNutt, Lee Newberry; and Uncle Michael McNutt.
A family service will be held at a later date.
