Eric J. Mlodzik, known affectionately to all as "E-Rock," left this world on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, just one day shy of his 49th birthday. Born on January 15, 1976, to Jan Mlodzik and the late Carol (Hein), Eric blazed through life with a grin that could light up the Milwaukee skyline. Christine, his loving wife of five years, knew she had hit the jackpot with a man who could find the silver lining in the worst of situations. His father, Jan, his brother Ian (Becky), and his sister Kim Fromolz (Heather Pobanz), saw in Eric a boundless joy that never failed to elevate the spirits of those around him. His nieces and nephews, Max, Jack, Tony (Ashely), and Veronica, will forever cherish memories of their uncle, the legendary jokester who could turn a family gathering into a comedy special. Eric is further survived by his countless cousins and numerous friends. Eric's mother, Carol, and his aunt Kathy Barelmann, who preceded him, surely welcomed him with open arms and a cosmic chuckle at the pearly gates.
For over two decades, the streets of Milwaukee were a little safer and a lot more cheerful with Officer Mlodzik on patrol. Since joining the force in 2002, Eric became a beloved figure among his colleagues, not just for his commitment to the badge but for his ability to defuse tension with a well-timed joke or a hilarious anecdote.
A true Wisconsinite at heart, Eric bled green and gold. His loyalty to Wisconsin sports was as unwavering as his smile, and on game days, you could hear his booming laughter each time the Packers scored a touchdown, Brewers hit a homerun, or the Admirals sliced a goal. Star Wars fan of galactic proportions, he often reminded his fellow officers that "the force" was with them, especially during the long night shifts when spirits needed lifting.
E-Rock was a hero in more ways than one. His love for animals was legendary, and not even the badge could stop him from rescuing cats in distress while on duty. It was as if he had a special siren for the feline friends of Milwaukee, and they adored him for it.
Eric's generosity knew no bounds, and he gave of himself as freely as he did his jokes. He loved people with a passion that was matched only by his love for a good punchline. His carefree spirit was a testament to his philosophy that life was too short for frowns, and his stubborn positivity was the secret ingredient that made every encounter with him a moment to treasure.
