Eric Richter

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Eric Richter, of Sarasota on December 10, 2023. Following a lengthy battle with ALS Eric passed away at the age of 41 years with his family by his side. Eric faced ALS with a resilience, fortitude and grace that inspired all who knew of his story.
Eric was born on April 23,1981, to parents Thomas and Suzan Richter, in Stamford, Connecticut. Besides his parents, Eric leaves behind his older brother Travis and wife Jen and his younger brother Kyle and his wife Beth and many other loving family members and friends.
Since Eric's death, many have written and spoken to us about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. They reminisce about his ever-present smile and the warmth, depth and intelligence behind it. Most of all, they recall the sheer pleasure of his company, how good he made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around him, and how much they will miss him. We all have lost a shining light in our lives.
We know Eric is now with his grandparents and is running once again in the fields of heaven with his beloved dogs Trek and McKensie.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday December 16 at 11:30am, at the Church of the Redeemer, 222 S Palm Avenue Sarasota, FL 34236.
