Eric Ross St. Peter, born on October 12, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Donald and Nancy (Azarovitz) St. Peter, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Beaverton, Michigan on July 25, 2025. His departure from this world leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy of love and adventure will forever be cherished.
Eric's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the joy of lifelong learning. He was a proud graduate of Carl Brablec High School in Roseville, where he grew up surrounded by a loving family and a community that shaped him into the man he became. On June 29, 1990, Eric married his beloved wife, Elizabeth Dittmann, in a beautiful ceremony at the little wedding chapel in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyous chaos that comes with raising a family.
The couple was blessed with four children: Michael Dittmann, Christina St. Peter, Michelle (Shane) Spiegel, and Ashley St. Peter. Eric's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, but it was as a grandfather that he truly shone. His grandchildren, Alissa, Brooklyn, Cacey, Danielle, Ella, Faith, Grayson, Eric, Emma, Payton, Brielle, Landon, and Isabel, were the light of his life, and he dedicated himself to being a constant source of love and support for each of them.
Eric is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth, his children and grandchildren, and his siblings Donna (John) Lewis, Wayne St. Peter, Mark St. Peter, and Jeff (Ina) St. Peter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce St. Peter, but his memory will continue to live on through the stories and laughter shared by those who knew him best.
Throughout his life, Eric worked as a mechanic and a tow truck operator in the Detroit metro area. His passion for automobiles was not just a profession but a lifelong hobby. He was particularly fond of his 1974 Nova SS, which he spent countless hours restoring in his garage but unfortunately was unable to finish. His retirement to Beaverton, where he and Liz built their home, allowed him more time to indulge in his interests and to be surrounded by the natural beauty he so loved.
Eric was a man of many words, often remembered for his shouts echoing around the house. His loving, adventurous spirit and generous heart made him a cherished figure in the lives of all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength, a beacon of kindness, and a true friend to many.
Eric valued his friendships deeply and was fortunate to have lifelong friends who stood by him through every stage of life. Whether it was sharing laughs around the table, helping one another in times of need, or simply picking up right where they left off no matter the years between, Eric understood the rare gift of a true friend-and he was one himself.
As we say goodbye to him, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire for generations to come. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be treasured forever in our hearts.
