Eric Jay Volden

Eric Jay Volden, age 76, of St. Paul, passed away July 20th, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Marlos and Doris Volden. Survived by his loving children, Blaine Volden and Carrie (Adam) Kinkel; sister, Joan (Bud) Platt; niece, Stephanie Platt; nephew, Scott (Lisa) Dugstad; and many cousins and close friends that he cherished.

Eric was a loving father, brother and friend and was a man of deep faith. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his love of travel, camping, biking, golf, music, volunteering, sponsoring families and working on village projects through Common Hope (Guatemala). Over the last 22 years he embraced the Cursillo Movement, serving on many Encounters and continuously participating in weekly small groups. He has impacted many people's lives with his generosity, compassion, and committed friendships. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Service will be held at Risen Savior 1501 East County Road 42, Burnsville, MN 55306 on Thursday, August 14th. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. Lunch gathering will follow immediately afterwards. A private interment will be held at Fort Snelling at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Common Hope non-profit organization, commonhope.org, where Eric served as a sponsor and is a cause that was near and dear to his heart.
