On May 7, 2023, Eric Walker, Jr., "Cheeseburger", passed away unexpectedly at the age of 21. Eric was born June 2, 2001, in Corning, NY to Eric D. Walker and JuliAnne Cavaluzzi, both of Corning.
As a child, Eric enjoyed being outdoors and playing sports and had an undying love for the New York Jets. He attended Corning-Painted Post High School where he excelled in football, lacrosse and rugby. After high school, Eric worked at Pudgies Pizza as a pizza maker and cook.
Eric is survived by his parents, Eric Walker (Callie Perry) of Lindley and JuliAnne Q. Cavaluzzi of Corning; his best friend and brother, Riley Walker of Corning; and sister, Rebel Walker; stepsister, Sophia; and stepbrother, Saige. Eric is also survived by his grandmother, Bonnie (Ron) Horton of Kearney, MO; grandmother, Ellen Cavaluzzi of Corning; uncles, Brandon Walker and Tyler Horton of Kearney, MO and Kevin (Olivia) of Corning; aunt, Cassie Walker; and several great aunts, uncles and cousins who he was very close to; and his buddy, Nipsey, his cat. Eric was especially close to his cousin, Donny Peterson, Jr., who he was inseparable with growing up.
Eric was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, David C. Walker (Corning) and maternal grandfather, James M. Cavaluzzi (Elmira).
Calling hours will be held at Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First Street in Corning, NY on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4 PM to 6 PM with his funeral service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eric's memory to the Corning Rugby Club in honor of "Cheeseburger" and mailed to Corning Rugby Club, Attn: Coach Bob McGee, 227 E. Second St., Corning, NY 14830.
