Eric Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kramer Family Funeral & Cremation Center on Mar. 1, 2026.
Eric died in his home in Salt Lake City surrounded by loved ones weeks after receiving a diagnosis of an inoperable glioblastoma stage 4 brain tumor. He was born to Dee and Petra Wilson in Salt Lake City with close family ties in both Utah and Germany. Eric spent his life in SLC, raising his daughters, Ali and Savannah, and son, Taylor, with his former wife Laura Partlow and giving to his community in many ways.

He started his career in banking and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Utah. He later pivoted to property maintenance and opened his own small business, Apartment Cleaning Services. He loved fixing and building things so much that when he retired, he continued on his own time to assist others with various home improvement projects for fun. His true love though, was Ultimate Frisbee where he played, coached, refereed, mentored and encouraged others of all ages. His dedication to the sport is being honored with an award from the Utah Ultimate Disc Association for "Male Original Builder of Salt Lake Ultimate".

Eric also loved being active and in nature. He took many trips across the U.S., and even other countries, to hike. In November 2025 he hiked 150 miles on the El Camino trail in Portugal, where he picked up the nickname "Trash Panda" for clearing over 70 bags of trash from the trail. He is known among friends and family for his list of 'good deeds' which exceeds imagination. This list included everything from helping people financially, lending tools, political activism, but especially building/repairing the homes of his friends and family. His openness, generosity to others, and his gracious kindness will always be remembered and he is also sure to be missed at local political rallies.

Eric is survived by his brother Kai Wilson, his daughter Ali Wilson and her husband Mitch Poen, his daughter Savannah Cracraft and her husband Dave Goldsmith, his grandson Mason Cracraft, and his soulmate Sarah Grant.

At the request of Eric, services will not be held. He had the rare opportunity to say goodbye to his friends and family in the weeks before his death, including a massive party held on February 8th where he was showered with love and gratitude from all of the people he had impacted.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you expand on Eric's legacy of generosity by donating to your local food bank.
