Erik Joseph Dailey, 46, of Gas City, passed away at 12:54 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home. He was born in Marion on Wednesday, May 12, 1976, to Edmond and Edrya (Weismantel) Dailey.
Erik graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1994 where he played on the football team. He later attended Ball State and Ivy Tech. He worked as a forklift operator and laborer at a sugar beet factory in Montana.
Erik enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially going out to eat and watching football with his dad. He was an animal lover and especially loved being around dogs. Erik also enjoyed music, especially Jelly Roll, Pantera and Metallica. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fan. Despite life's challenges, Erik had a deep love for his family and those closest to him. He will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his mother, Edrya Dailey of Gas City; son, Blake (Nicole) Dailey of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Emily (Kent DuBeau) Dailey of Gas City; nephews, E.J. Soft, Konnar Soft and Hontz McCarty; niece, Aubree Soft; dog, Petey; several friends, and special friends, Deanna Strothcamp, Ryan Swafford, Jamie Liddick and Travis Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond Dailey.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Erik's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
