Erik Dean Griffin, age 54 of Kingman, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. He was born in Danville, Illinois on January 28, 1970 to Paul Edward Griffin and Becky Kay (Grimes) Ellis.
Erik attended Fountain Central High School and was a mechanic his whole life. On July 10, 1993 he married Lorie Griffin. Throughout the years he worked for New Image Auto with his dad, Bill Smith's in Champaign, IL, Apple Chevrolet in Covington, and Byrant's in Attica. He enjoyed auto racing, working on cars, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and road farming.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelbie (Anthony Haga) Griffin of West Lebanon; his mother, Becky (Jeff) Ellis of Kingman; ex-wife, Lorie Griffin; step-mother, Jayne Gawthorp; siblings, Paul Griffin Jr, Chuck (Mary) Hensley, Brian (Kayla) Gassaway, and Andy (Miranda) Gassaway; two step-sisters, Samatha (Sam) Guilliams and Lockey (Chris) Eppley; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Booger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Griffin; sisters, Jennifer Henderson and Carla Griffin; niece, Kami Griffin; nephew, Gavin Lewis; and four best friends, Joe Rutledge, Granger Wann, Marcus "Hannie" Phelps, and Mark Woodworth.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 12:00 pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steve Crum officiating. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
