Erik Stephen Pedersen

Erik Pedersen 59, of Oak Brook, passed on Friday, October 4,2024 at home. His mother was with her beloved son when he unexpectedly departed from this world, due to complications from a degenerative disorder, Anterior Cell Horn Disease of which there is no known cure. On the outside, Erik was a shell of his former self, but a warrior inside. Throughout this debilitating illness, Erik never once complained, or asked why me.Sports, mainly, football, baseball, and basketball, were his passion, and he excelled at all three. He graduated from Glenbard North High and attended U. of I. in Champaign Urbana. Erik went on to train pro Athletes, coach at Mike Singletary's football camp, and was assistant football coach at Willowbrook High. Erik transitioned into construction as a contractor in home remodeling.
His laugh was infectious, and he was sometimes generous to a fault. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you had his loyalty to the end. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Was a diehard sports fan, an avid concert goer, and comedy specials were his delight. He was making plans to attend the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy tour in November.
Erik is survived by his mother, Marcia Pedersen, his father Ralph "Dick" (Pat) Pedersen, brothers, Todd (Lori), Scott, Kevin, and Brett. One sister, Kristin Sintich-McCarthy.Four nephews, Jacob (Renee) Pedersen, Justin (Diana) Pedersen, Joshua( fiancé, Mariya Illarionova) Pedersen, and Julian Sintich. One great niece, Tessa Pedersen and two great nephews, Apollo and Alessio Pedersen. So many besties...too many to mention. You know who you are.
His passing will leave a void, but Erik would tell you, that's life, and don't forget me or I might come back to pay you a visit.
Forever gone, forever loved, but not forgotten. You were a fighter to the end.

Visitation; Friday, October 11, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral home, 4343 Main Street Downers Grove, IL. 60515. Funeral Service; Saturday, October 12 at 10:00 am at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home. Interment is private.
