Erin Clinton Walsh Daunic, age 54, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on July 22nd after living with cancer for nearly one year. Born on February 28,1971 in Northampton, Massachusetts, Erin was the cherished daughter of Michael F. and Jean Mullens Walsh.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Erin was a radiant presence. Her love for people was one of a kind-big, warm, and fierce. Her deepest love was being a mom and became extremely close with many of her children's friends. Her home was a haven of warmth, laughter, and inclusiveness.
Erin was a gatherer and connector of people. She was a positive energy force that impacted layers upon layers of people of all ages and backgrounds. She made a lasting impression not only on close friends and loved ones, but often on people that only met her a few times. Many turned to her during their darkest, toughest struggles for support and guidance.
No one will ever forget meeting Erin. She had a true gift of making any person or group of people feel comfortable, confident, and loved in any setting.
Erin graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, New Hampshire and Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She went on to earn her master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her professional life in the nonprofit sector was devoted to serving young people. She began her career with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, served kids in recovery at Community High School, and spent the last 16 years as the Chief Development Officer at STARS Nashville.
Her husband, Willy Daunic, lovingly described her as "one of one"-a sentiment echoed by many. Her legacy lives on and her light on all of us will never go out.
Erin is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, William Alcorn Navarro Daunic; her beloved children Evans Clinton Walsh Daunic and Michael Mahoney Daunic; her parents Michael F. and Jean Mullens Walsh; her siblings, Anne S. Walsh (Christopher Prindle), Ryan M. Walsh (Erica), and Colin M. Walsh; and her nieces, Mary Mullens Prindle and Marion Breland Walsh. Her extended family included more than sixty aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at OZ Arts Nashville on Saturday, August 23 at 4:00pm, with visitation starting at 2:00pm until the hour of service.
A second celebration will be held in her beloved motherland of New England on Saturday, August 30 at noon at the Attleboro Elks Lodge in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://StarsNashville.org in loving memory.
