James R. "Ronnie" Davis, Jr., 86, of Pembroke, passed away unexpectedly at South Shore Hospital on June 21, 2025.
Beloved son & eldest child of the late James R. Davis Sr. & Edna M. Davis, Ronnie was born and raised in Hanover where he played baseball and football for Hanover High School of which he graduated from in 1957. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Army serving both active duty and reserve. Ronnie also served the town of Hanover as a Police Officer spanning 4 decades. He was well respected and a hero to many.
Ronnie was a talented marksman, gunsmith, carpenter, guitarist and antique car enthusiast with many other hobbies and talents. He had a great sense of humor and was a people person, earning him friends everywhere he went.
Ron was the husband of the late Judith L. Davis. He is survived by his beloved children James R. Davis III and wife Lisa of Maine, Lisa M. Owens and husband Ted of Wareham. His brother Gordon Davis of Carver, sister Jean Garrish of NC, and sister Laurie Davis and her partner Andy of Halifax. He was the Grandfather of Nicki Bickford of Boston, Amy Gariepy and husband Scott of Plymouth and Ronnie-Scott Owens and partner Laura of Woburn, and Great Grandfather of 10, and a beloved Uncle. Ronnie is also survived by his late wife's children and grandchildren.
Ronnie is loved beyond measure and our hearts are forever changed by his absence.
A graveside ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 12th at 12:00PM at Hanover Center Cemetery.

Words can´t describe what a great human being you were not just to me but, (all) who had the pleasure of meeting-you. It didn´t take only but a few minutes to find out how genuine, kind, caring, and open minded person you really were !! One who could talk on just about any topic or subject but who really loved his country and was so proud-of-it. But, the great memories and things knowing you will always be cherish in my life and especially your family and friends.
