He was born in March 1932, son of the late Charles and Marta Rainesalo.
Erkki was raised and educated in Corry graduating from Corry High School in 1949. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Erkki graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and married Anne in 1958. Erkki worked for Ajax Iron Works/Cooper Industries in Corry as an engineer for 22 years. In 1981, he and his family moved to Houston, TX where he worked for Waukesha-Pearce before retiring in 1997. He and his wife then started full time RVing, traveling around the US for many years. They returned to Corry in 2010.
He was a member Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and the Corry Airport Authority Planning Commission. Erkki enjoyed amateur radio, collecting stamps/coins, photography, and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anne. He is survived by daughter, Karin, and two sons David and Chris.
No services will be held.
Memorials may be made to the Corry Public Library, 117 W. Washington St, Corry PA 16407.
Arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407.
