Erma L. McMaster

Erma Leech McMaster, 93, of Hickory, Mount Pleasant Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in her home.
Erma was born on June 24, 1931 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late George H. and Merrill O'Donnell Leech.
Above all, Erma loved her family. Erma was fortunate enough to see all three of her children often, in fact almost daily. These visits also extended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Erma was lucky to be surrounded by her family not only in her final days, but throughout her life.
Mrs. McMaster worked most of her life as the Secretary/Treasurer of Louis M. McMaster, Inc. Erma and Lou were inseparable. Traveling in their bus to antique equipment shows was a favorite pastime. A lot of Erma's activities centered around her life with Lou. They two greatly enjoyed participating in the National Pike Steam show, Historical Construction Equipment Association, and local truck club activities. Erma was well known for driving her 1921 Atterbury truck.
Surviving are her children, Janet L. McMaster, PhD, Thomas S. (Martha) McMaster, and Judy (David) McMaster Descutner; grandchildren, Lindsey (Justin) Longstreth, Kathryn (Michael) Grant, Scott (Donna) McMaster, Lisa (Joe Berger) McMaster, Sam Descutner (Lauren), and Isabel Descutner; great grandchildren, Zoey and Violet Longstreth, Gunnar Grant, Wyatt and Eli McMaster, and Lane Descutner, as well as her siblings, David Leech, Mary Ann Mikec, Ronald Leech, Robert Leech, and Edwin Leech.
Along with her parents, Erma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis McClurg McMaster (2014) and siblings, Ruth Johnson and George Leech.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 2, 2025 from Noon – 2 pm at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A Service will be held following visitation at Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
