Ernest Preston Clifton, 86 of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. Clifton was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Clifton was an avid member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents Jake D. Clifton and Mittice M. Clifton; siblings Talmadge Clifton, Jake Clifton, Vera Sanders, Juanita Matlock; sister-in- law Louise Clifton; brother- in- laws Cecil Sanders and Buddy Matlock.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 64 years Lea Clifton; children, James Clifton (Deborah); sisters Gale Boening, Vicki Baker (John); sister-in-law, Evelyn Clifton; Grandchildren, Chris Clifton (Britony), Brittany Forester (Ian) as well as great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Forester, Maddie Clifton, Ameila Forester, Luke Clifton; Fur-baby Sophie as well as many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to doctors, nurses and staff with Baptist hospital and VITAS. In lieu of flowers for those who wish, donations to CBN Israel in his name would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola Florida, 32526 on Thursday February 15, 2024 from 11:30 AM with the service following at 12:30 PM
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
