Ernest "Ernie" Eugene Exline

Ernest “Ernie” Eugene Exline, age 69, of Exline Road, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born Tuesday, June 5, 1956, in Berkeley Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Paul D. and Alice B. Hull Exline.

Ernie was a family man, he loved his wife, sons, daughter, and grandchildren fiercely. When he wasn’t working, he was with his family. He was proud and consistently attended sporting events to cheer on his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving RC cars. He enjoyed music by Conway Twitty and Elvis. In the summers you’d find him in a pair of cutoff shorts and barefoot. He fed hundreds of hummingbirds with his many feeders. He loved to make people laugh, and always made others smile. He was harmlessly ornery, a tad inappropriate. To know Ernie was to love him.

He worked for S&S Hauling and Excavating in Needmore, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Robin Exline, three sons; Keith Exline and wife Brenda of Hancock, MD, Todd Exline and wife Sara of Warfordsburg, PA and Dalton Exline of Hancock, MD, one daughter, Jessica Riggleman of Kitzmiller, MD., nine grandchildren; Brooke Stotler, Mercedes Exline, Josh Exline, Easton Exline, Laci Exline, Lane Exline, Cora Exline, Aubrianna Eickhoff and Addilynn Eickhoff, one great grandchild, Iris Walker, two brothers; Anthony "Dale" Exline and wife Trudy, Donald Lee Exline and wife Brenda both of Hancock, MD, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Viewing will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at the funeral home with one-hour prior visitation. Pastor Brandon Hill will officiate. Burial will be private.

There will be a gathering at Kirkwood Park Hancock, Maryland for friends and family following the services on Saturday. Please bring a covered dish.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
