Ernest "Ernie" Roucek

Ernest "Ernie" Roucek, age 83 of Pine City, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia Roucek; daughter, Vicki (Peter) Appelt; granddaughters, Lizzie and Paige Appelt, all of Pine City; predeceased by infant son, Timothy and infant daughter, Sheila; as well as nephew, Ernie Harbol; and countless other family members. After Ernie graduated from Southside High School in 1956, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Ernie retired as manager from American Linen in Owego, NY. He spent many afternoons on Seneca Lake catching trout and smallmouth bass. If you couldn't find him there, you would find him on the St. Lawrence River. Ernie enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music on his guitar, spending time with his family and friends, but his favorite time would have been playing Uno and being with his two granddaughters. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for all of the love, respect and care they gave to Ernie and his family. A Celebration of Ernie's Life will be held at Charlie's Café, 205 Hoffman St. on Sunday, November 7th, 2021, from 12pm-4pm; parking is available at the Baker Family Funeral Home, 640 W.
