Ernest G. "Ernie" Schwab, 76, of Allentown, passed away on Friday October 24, 2025. He was the loving husband of Judy (Szivos) Schwab, and they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this coming November. Ernie and Judy were members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and former members of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Born in Allentown, Ernie was the son of the late Ernest N. and Mary (Gress) Schwab.
Ernie proudly served his country in United States Army. After leaving the service, Ernie worked as an Assembler for Mack Trucks for 20 years, and then as an Inspector for Gardener Cryogenics prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved spending time in his garden.
Surviving Ernie with his wife are their children, Mark and his companion Lisa, and David and his wife Tracey. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren Tyler, Alexis and Kylie, and his siblings John, Richard (Christine), Edward (Ann Marie), Donna Mengel (Robert), and Maryann Kline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 3, 2025, at 11:00am in St. Francis of Assisi, 1046 W. Cedar Street, Allentown. A calling period will be held on Sunday November 2, 2025, from 6:00-8:00pm, and Monday November 3, 2025, from 9:00-10:15am in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ernie's memory to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, care of the funeral home, 908 Hanover Avenue, Allentown.
