Margaret A. "Peggy" Keating

Margaret A. Keating, 89, peacefully passed away on Sunday October 26, 2025. Margaret was happily married for 32 years to Thomas J. Keating, prior to his passing in 1990. Born in White Plains, NY, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Cullen) O'Neill. She was graduate of St. John's High School in White Plains, NY, and for many years worked as the payroll accountant for the River Mede Nursing Home. Peggy was deeply involved in her children's lives- active in Brownies, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and a devoted school trip chaperone and a friendly presence as a cafeteria aide. She enjoyed bowling, supported pee wee football and cheerleading, the winter guard and drum corps and later in life cherished her time as a member and trip planner for the North Fenton and Port Crane senior groups. Peggy will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her children: James and his companion Tammy Joy and Lisa wife of Raymond Lance. Brother: Richard O'Neill. Sisters: Joan Ahrenberg and Bobbi Vezina. Grandchildren: Jacob Keating, Robert Wagner and Thais Pedrosa. Peggy was predeceased by her sons: Michael Keating and Thomas husband of Young Keating. Additionally, she was predeceased by her siblings: John O'Neill and Maureen Rizzo.

A Graveside Service will be at 11 AM Saturday November 1, 2025, at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 501 Fairview Street, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from noon-2pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect St. Binghamton following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice, care of the O'Donnell Funeral Home, Allentown, PA.

Peggy was a neighbor on Deborah Dr.
Always good natured and great w ith the kids. Back in those days the kids played together on the street and she would keep an eye. Good memories. Rip Peggy.
