Ernest Earl Steiner of Dalton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 12, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Ernest was born December 15, 1953, to the late Nathan and Bertha (Neuenschwander) Steiner and at his passing was 71 years, 9 months, and 26 days.
On June 17, 1978, he married Lorrain W. Leinbach. She survives, along with 12 children: 4 daughters, Gloria & Jesse Ehst of Jordanville, NY; Janice Steiner of Gooding, ID; June & Raymond Martin of LaGrange, WY; and Emily & Steve Horst of Apple Creek, OH; 8 sons, Delvin & Roxanne of Greentop, MO; Leonard & Rayanne of Moore, ID; Loyal & Marla of Dalton; Glen & Rosalyn of Dalton; Gerald & Yolanda of Grafton, ND; Lemuel & Lauren of Ontario, OR; Edward & Trina of Dalton; Luke of Dalton; and 32 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Delvin and Duane, and 2 sisters, Evelyn and Ethel. Surviving are 1 sister, Marilyn & Merle Amstutz of Apple Creek; 1 Sister-in-law, Annetta (Duane) Steiner of Wooster; 1 Brother-in-law Larry & Emma Miller (Evelyn) of Orrville; 2 brothers, Lloyd & Susan of Dalton; and Maurice & Marion of Dalton.
He was a member of the County Line Mennonite Church and served as minister there for 47 years.
Calling hours are Wednesday October 15, 1 to 4 PM and Thursday, October 16, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Friday October 17 at 10 AM. All will be held at the County Line Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Wooster Community Hospital.
