Tammy Yoder, 62, of Sugarcreek passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 following a short illness.
Tammy was born on May 23, 1963 in Dover to David (Judy) Zehnder of Brewster and Joyce (Jeff) (Slemmer) Fenton of Jefferson, OH and married Firman Yoder on July 31, 1982. He survives.
She was a waitress for over 20 years at the former Beachy's Country Chalet in Sugarcreek until they closed. Following that she went to work at the Walnut Creek Country Store before working at the Der Dutchman Restaurant in the bakery. She loved working in the service industry and keeping her customers happy.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek. When not working, she could be found shopping at the local greenhouses with her friends. Her favorite role as Memaw, was spending time with her family and spoiling her grands. You could always find her at one of her grandchildren's sporting events or a dance recital.
In addition to her husband Firman, she is survived by her children, Ashley (Joe) Varga of Walnut Creek, Allison (Zach) Yoder of Sugarcreek, and Austin (Meagen) Yoder of Dundee; six grandchildren, Joscelin and Clairen Varga, Deegan, Keaton, and Andyn Yoder, and Griffin Yoder. She was looking forward to the arrival of her seventh grandchild in March. Her sisters-in-law Gina Zehnder of Ash, NC and Ruth (Levi) Weaver of Holmesville; and her many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother Rick Zehnder.
Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Rev. Earl Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9-11 AM at the funeral Home prior to services.
