Ernest Vieira

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ernest Vieira, a cherished husband, loving avô, proud great-grandfather, and dear friend to many. Ernest passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born in Stockton, California, Ernest carried both his American roots and his deep Portuguese heritage proudly throughout his life. He loved returning to the Portuguese islands every year to visit family and friends, reminiscing about his youth and enjoying the simple pleasures that defined his roots.

Ernest shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Luisa Vieira, who was his steadfast companion through every season of life. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughters Christina (and husband Gary) and Breann (and long time partner Klayton), along with his adored great-grandchildren Lenae, Kaeden, and Emerson, who brought endless joy to his days.

Those who knew Ernest will remember him as a man of quiet strength and meaningful words. He had a warm heart, a quick wit, and a love for life's simple joys whether sharing a glass of wine, playing cards with his cousins Manuel and Andrea, or a cup of coffee with neighbors. He had a gift for making others laugh and never took life too seriously.

Ernest is now reunited in heaven with his beloved stepson, Randolph Escobar, who passed before him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 43148 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Ernest's life and legacy.

Ernest's presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will live on forever.
