Ernest Watson 'Ernie' Minor, Jr., 79, of Abbeville, husband of Jean Smith Minor,
died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born
in Abbeville County to the late Ernest W. Minor Sr. and Dorothy Berry Minor.
Mr. Minor attended Abbeville High School. He was employed in maintenance for
various textiles plants, before retiring after many years with the Abbeville County
School District Maintenance Department. Mr. Minor, a member of Asaville Baptist
church, served as a Deacon, a Trustee and Sunday School Director for 32 years. He
was a beloved husband and father. He loved to work outside and could repair just
about anything.
Mr. Minor is survived by his wife, Jean, of 59 years of the home; his son Ernest W.
'Ernie' Minor, III of the home; a sister, Margaret Minor Spence Richardson of
North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Asaville Baptist Church
on Friday, December 9, 2022. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm with the Rev. Dewayne Evans
officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 2699 Hwy 72W Abbeville, SC 29620.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Minor may be made
to the Asaville Baptist Church, c/o church secretary, 2843 Hwy 201, Due West, SC
29639, or Hospice Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W Alexander Ave.
Greenwood, SC 29646
