Ernestine D. Elliott

Ernestine D. Elliott, 92, of Ellington, loving daughter of the late Sidney and Harriett (Nye) Elliott, peacefully passed away, on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Ernestine was born on July 18, 1933, in Ellington and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1951.

Prior to her retirement in 1989, Ernestine was employed as an administrative assistant for over 40 years in the Social Services Department with the State of Connecticut. She was a former member of the Union Congregational Church in Rockville.

Ernestine was a passionate gardener, and she enjoyed photography and traveling. She was a longtime collector of dolls and porcelain and ceramic animals.

Ernestine is survived by several cousins and their families as well as many wonderful friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Sidney Elliott and her sister, Ruth Elliott.

Ernestine's family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Fox Hill Care Center in Vernon as well as the staff at her former home, The Ivy in Ellington.

A calling hour will be at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am in Ellington Center Cemetery, 95 Maple St. Ellington, CT 06029.
