Ernestine Eubanks Wallis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors on Nov. 8, 2021.
Ernie Wallis, 94, of Pine Bluff, was passionate about Jefferson County history and had a love for birds and wildflowers.
She passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at home.
Born Ernestine Eubanks June 2, 1927 in Pine Bluff, she was the daughter of Ernest and Clara Belle Perkins Eubanks.
Mrs. Wallis was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.
She married David Walter Wallis October 24, 1948 in Pine Bluff.
After working a few years for Arkansas Power and Light, Mrs. Wallis worked alongside her husband at Wallis and Wallis advertising from 1963 until he passed away March 25, 2005.
Mrs. Wallis worked very hard to preserve the history of Jefferson County. Her husband was one of the charter members of the Jefferson County Historical Society. While she helped him with their beloved Jefferson County Historical Quarterly for many years, she kept it going after the charter members either passed away or could no longer help.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Wallis also appreciated birds and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed photography, particularly of wildflowers.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Stafford and Jim Eubanks.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Wallis of Little Rock and Sandy Wallis of Lafayette, Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Carlton Cross officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Robinson's. Masks will be recommended at the visitation and service. Interment will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 8003, Pine Bluff, AR 71611, Jefferson County Historical Society, c/o Ken Theis, 6530 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, AR 71603 or the donor's favorite charity.
