Ernie J. Castaldo

Ernie J. Castaldo, age 66, passed away on December 17, 2024. Ernie grew up in Broomall, PA, and was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Class of 1976. After high school, Ernie worked as a car salesman in Delaware County, working his way through the industry, eventually taking his skills and knowledge to California. Known for his expertise, Ernie not only sold cars at various dealerships but also traveled to train other salesmen in effective sales techniques, making him a respected figure in the industry.
Ernie also spent some time living in Atlantic City, NJ, where he enjoyed life by the shore, working as a craps dealer for a number of years. He loved riding his motorcycle, had a lifelong appreciation for antique cars-his first car being a 1955 Thunderbird-and more recently found joy in cigars. The beach was always a special place for Ernie, with the Jersey Shore and Bethany Beach holding a particularly cherished spot in his heart. Most of all Ernie was incredibly proud of his nieces and nephews, whom he deeply adored.
He is the son of the late William Taylor (2003) and Nancy (nee Ciarmellano) Anderson, the late Ernest J. Castaldo Sr., brother to Gina Orr (Sean), the late James Anderson and Christy McHugh (Dave), and Bonnie Koletas (Leo), uncle to Cassandra Conley, Sabrina Gill, Shayna Orr, Lexa Orr, and Blair Orr as well as James Abbonizio, Thomas Abbonizio, Taylor McHugh and Tia McHugh.
Visitation: Monday, December 23, 2024 from 10:30a - 11:15a at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA 19014. Memorial Service: Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:30a at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA 19064. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ernie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at chop.edu
