The world has lost a dedicated mother, a selfless spouse, a gifted artist and a beautiful person inside and out.
Surrounded by loved ones, Kimberly A. Weimer, 66, of Doylestown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Philadelphia to William E. (d. 2014) and Angelina L. Weimer (d. 2013), Kim graduated from Marple Newtown High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moore College of Art.
Her remarkable 40-year career as a photojournalist began at the News of Delaware County. Soon, the Naples (Fl.) Daily News came calling, and there she blossomed. However, her happiest moment was giving birth to her daughter, Katherine. She loved everything about being her mother. From day one, they spent many hours on the fishing pier and the beach. They played in the sand. They danced in the living room. They created art on the porch.
After returning to the Philadelphia area, she joined the staff at the Bucks County Courier Times, where her extraordinary work earned her numerous accolades, including recognition from the National Press Photographers Association, the Associated Press Media Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists and Keystone Press.
Kim's powerful images have been featured in books, magazines, and newspapers nationwide and were included in the "Homeless in America" photographic exhibit held in Washington, D.C. She was honored with the 2019 Keystone Press awards in both feature photography and photo essay categories. Through her distinguished photography and mixed media artwork, she continually captured the beauty of everyday life with empathy and humor.
After a shift in the news business, Kim obtained an associate degree in sociology. She then served as a Blended Case Manager at Lenape Valley Foundation, devoting herself to uplifting the Bucks County community by assisting those with mental health issues and developmental challenges to secure the help they needed. She was dedicated to her clients, despite the overwhelming odds.
In her spare time, Kim loved to cook, paint, read, play piano, and care for her beloved pets and plants.
Kim is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Brian Methven; their beautiful daughter, Katherine; her amazing sister, Toni Rosen (Theodore); and niece, (Lily).
She is also survived by sisters-in-law Maureen Crooks (Glenn d. 2024); Colleen Norton (Paul); Noreen Sibley (Richard); Laureen Giampa (John); and brothers-in-law Timothy Methven (Deborah); Patrick Methven (Tracey) and many nieces and nephews.
Generous and kind, with a heart of gold, Kim forever leaves a lasting impression on all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on a future date. Interment will be private.
