He was born on October 28, 1927, in Arpin, WI, the son of Julius and Hilda (Andersen) Zuehlke. Erwin was a graduate of Marshfield High School. He married Joan Zuehlke on March 25, 1951, in Mt. Horeb, WI. She predeceased him on August 27, 2013.
Erwin was the Vice President of Beloit College.
Survivors include his children, David (Carrie) Zuehlke of Dublin, OH, Alan Zuehlke of Jefferson, WI, and Greg (Hope) Zuehlke of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Matthew (Jenny) Zuehlke, Peter (Katherine) Zuehlke, Drew (Kelly) Zuehlke, Chad (Emma) Zuehlke, Joshua (Brianne) Rusk, Zachary Rusk, and Noah (Brittany) Rusk; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Claire, Collin, Tiffany, Brady, Zoe, Zaryah, Brooks, and Rosie; son-in-law, Steven Rusk; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Rusk and daughter-in-law, Barb Zuehlke.
A private family gathering will be held. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
Memorials in his name may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Beloit Meals on Wheels.

I remember Erv from his time at the College. He was good at his job. While most stidents had no real idea who he was, I got the chance to see a bright man with a surprising sense of humor. He served Beloit College well.
