Esperanza S. Lawrence

Esperanza "Faye" Dizon Sese Lawrence, 95, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, surrounded by her husband and family at Augusta Health in Fishersville. 

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose life was a testament to love and her commitment to family. 

 She was born on September 27, 1929, in Manila, Philippines to the late Rufio and Juana Sese. 

 Esperanza dedicated her life to nurturing her family and ensuring they were well cared for, always prioritizing their happiness above all else. While she did not pursue a career outside the home in a traditional sense, her work as a homemaker was profound, impactful, and no less rewarding or impactful. Her devotion to her family and her Catholic faith were of the utmost importance to her, guiding her actions and shaping her relationships with those around her. 

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, George Edward Lawrence; her sons, Robert Edwin Lawrence and his wife, Melissa, and Donald Jay Lawrence and his wife, Lisa; her daughters, Patricia Ann Lawrence Rodeffer and her husband, James, Brenda Kay Lawrence Piner, and Gale Elizabeth Lawrence Bickley and her husband, Lawerance; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. 

 The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. 

 A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home. 

 Interment will follow at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton.

 A reception will follow the interment at the Staunton Moose Lodge #1635 (139 Cedar Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401).
