Esteban Carrasquillo of Chicago, Illinois passed away on June 22, 2025, due to complications related to a liver disease. He passed just a few months after his beloved mother, Luz Mercedes Rivera, passed. He was surrounded by family members and loved ones as he started on his journey.
Born on December 16, 1978 in Chicago, Illinois, Esteban (lovingly called Stevie) was a beloved father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his quiet demeanor and different outlook of life. Esteban had a quiet personality and an empathetic heart. He was very respectful to his aunts and uncles and shared a quiet sense of humor with them.
He graduated from Schurz High School with good grades but chose to follow a career in the food industry. From his earliest days, Esteban Carrasquillo was a rebel; his mission was to live life to the beat of his own drum. Esteban was a true Puerto Rican with his loved of dominos, and playing the Congas. He also played the piano. He loved all music but was passionate about: 2 Pac, Lil Wayne, rap, and house music. He also had an inherited ability to draw. The trait passed on from his mother.
When Esteban was a kid he loved to climb. He was an expert at finding things that his mom would try to hide. He was like a little monkey making his way to the hidden treasures.
Esteban is survived by his father, Enrique Carrasquillo, his sister Diana Muñoz (Miguel), his brothers, Enrique Jr., David, Leonardo. He was also survived by his children: Esteban Jr., Gianna, and Faith; by his nieces Tatyana, Zulay and nephews Salvador, and Jayden; by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all who will forever cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 11-1pm with the service beginning at 12:30pm at Casey & Rios Funeral Home 4540 W. Diversey Ave., Chicago, IL 60639
