Esther May Tefft

Esther M. (Tipple) Tefft, age 83, passed away the evening of Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Raymond A. Tefft Sr. to whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Providence, she was the oldest of seven children born to the late Roland H. and Lillian (Aldrich) Tipple.
A caretaker at heart, she worked as a day care provider for many years where her kind and compassionate nature made those she cared for feel safe and loved in her presence. Above all, she was most proud of her children and happiest when she had her family gathered together.
She was the devoted mother of Londa Charland, Raymond A. Tefft Jr. and Kevin J. Tefft; cherished 'Gramma' of Jacob, Amber and Tiana; great-grandmother of Xavier, Ryder, Serenity and Amiya. She was the sister of Catherine Smith, Norman Tipple and the late Roland Tipple Jr., Elizabeth Mello, Judith Collins and Delmar Tipple.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 10am-12pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 12pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment will immediately follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 7312 Warwick, RI 02886 are greatly appreciated.
