Ethel Jean (Christensen) Reber, peacefully passed away on November 13, 2025, in Sigourney, Iowa, at the age of 90. Born on May 9, 1935, in West Branch, Cedar County, Iowa, Ethel lived a life filled with love and dedication.

Ethel was the daughter of Viggo Christensen and Anna. Ethel graduated from Iowa City High School in 1953, with many honors in marksmanship as she was member of a rifle shooting club during high school, marking the beginning of her journey into adulthood.

Ethel married John Junior Reber. From their union, they welcomed four children: infant child Junior, Suzanne, Wilfred, and Wesley.

Ethel had a successful career, spending many years as an Accounting Clerk at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her diligence and attention to detail were qualities that made her a respected member of the workforce.

In her later years, Ethel found joy in simple pleasures, often indulging in adult coloring books and word puzzles. These hobbies were not just pastimes for her; they were expressions of her creativity and a reflection of her zest for life. Her favorite sweet pleasures often consisted of Dove dark chocolates and coconut macaroons.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Suzanne Reber of Indiana and her son Wilfred Reber of Pennsylvania. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, D'Arcy Sykes, Noah Sykes, Amanda Kennedy, and Nicole Brinker, as well as her great-grandchildren, Amelia Brinker, Gavin Brinker, and Killian Brinker; Sister Judy Gromak. Each of them carries a piece of Ethel's spirit in their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanda, her infant son Junior, and her son Wesley Hollis Reber, and Great grandson Brandon. Ethel's family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in peace.

While a funeral service will be held at a later time, Ethel's family wishes to express their gratitude to the Corridor Care Management and Manor House Care Center of Sigourney, Iowa, for their compassionate care during her later years. They also invite all who knew her to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.

Ethel Jean (Christensen) Reber will be remembered for her warm spirit, and a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished by her family and friends.
