Eugene Wesley Lyle was born on February 7, 1944, to parents George and Mae Lyle in Wickes, Arkansas. Gene passed peacefully at his home in Wickes on June 20, 2025. Gene leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and quiet strength. He loved deeply, worked humbly, and raised his family with unwavering values. Gene was a multi-talented businessman who worked for many years as a Frito Lay driver. After leaving the chip business, Gene purchased from his father and ran successfully Lyle's Used Cars and salvage. After his years in the auto industry Gene operated Mena's only full-service station, raised chickens, and operated his own rock and monument enterprise. Gene worked tirelessly and enjoyed wheeling and dealing. Gene loved his family fiercely. He was married to his wife Nancy of Wickes. He is survived by his daughters Teri Marroy and husband Andy, Sheila Frachiseur and husband Mark. Gene loved being a grandfather. His grandchildren include Gary Warren and wife Kellie, Hana Farley and husband Richard, Stephanie Butler and husband Cody, Jared Frachiseur and wife Montana, 12 great grandchildren, Haley, Rendi, Aubri, Blake, Dakota J, Everleigh, Dakota F, Parker, Stetson Gene, Madison, Mason, and Mariah. One great great grandchild Haze. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry, Danny and Ronnie Lyle, sisters Glenda Blake and Beverly Philpot and grandson Adam Warren. A memorial service honoring a life so well lived will be held at the Mena Church of God on highway 88 East in Mena, on July 12, 2025, at 2 p.m.
