Eugene "Gene" Charles Noonan, 89 years old, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. Gene leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children: Jean Hall (Joe), Robin Fisher (Gary), Christopher Noonan, Nancy Weinstein (Lev), and Patrick Noonan (Arie), along with many Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 17 years, Theresa Lanham Noonan; parents, Thomas M. Noonan, Sr. and Lorena Steier Noonan; and brother, Thomas M. Noonan, Jr..
Gene was a graduate of Flaget High School, class of 1954 and Bellarmine College, class of 1960. He served in Kentucky National Guard and U.S. Army. Gene was an active member of the American Legion Highland Post #201, Ancient Order of the Hibernians, and the Flaget Alumni Association. Gene worked for 40 years in the Insurance Business as a bond manager and underwriter.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40218. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Church of Ascension Catholic Parish, 4600 Lynnbrook Dr, Louisville KY 40220; Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Expression of Sympathy may be made in Gene's memory to the Flaget Alumni Association, P.O. Box 36558, Louisville, KY 40233-6558.
