Eulis Barnes, Jr., age 93, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Black Star, KY, he was the son of the late Eulis Barnes and Pearl Arnold Barnes.
Eulis proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1961, including active duty during the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of work to the United States Postal Service. He was a man of strong faith and a devoted member of New Hope Church of God. In his free time, Eulis enjoyed bowling, spending time at the shooting range, and cheering on his beloved UK Basketball team. He also found great peace while out fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Cassidy, and his grandmother, Willie Whitaker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice McGee Barnes; children, Susan Habermehl (Mark), Teresa Barnes, and Mike Barnes; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on his memory.
Visitation will be held from 12:00–2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Addison officiating.
Burial will follow at McFarland Cemetery in West Corbin, KY.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #88 Honor Guard.
