Eunisa Bond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughey Funeral Home on Jan. 3, 2026.
Eunisa E. Bond, 95, of Woodlawn, IL passed away on Christmas evening at Deaconess Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon IL. Eunisa was born on April 25, 1930, in Annapolis, Missouri to John and Mamie (Mann) Ford.
Eunisa married the love of her life, William Bond on March 5, 1950, in St. Louis, MO. William passed away on September 18, 2002, Eunisa was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, IL. Among her jobs, she was a seamstress, a switchboard operator and a homemaker. She was a lady of many hats, but most of all, she loved caring for her husband and children.
Eunisa loved the Lord, and in 2025, at the age of 95, she was baptized with her five-year-old great-grandson, Hudson at Broken Loved Healed Church in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Years ago, Eunisa had a dream that she was in heaven, and she saw her uncle. She said she saw the most beautiful Christmas cookies. She also saw her sister Carmen and others that she loved and missed. She said they all wore the most beautiful white gowns that were all decorated at the top and every time they went to talk to one another, they just floated over. Now, on December 25, 2025, Eunisa fulfilled her dream and can say, "I am home for Christmas. It was more than just a dream."
Eunisa loved planting and caring for her flowers. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. She enjoyed playing racquetball, volleyball, and swimming. When she was younger, she loved swimming in Big Creek near her home. She enjoyed watching her Hallmark movies. She also enjoyed playing Rummy and especially Old Maid with her great-grandson, Hudson. She also loved horses and watching her granddaughter Hallie show off her Tennessee Walkers. She liked collecting shoes, not only to wear, but she had a lot of ceramic, decorative shoes. She loved making her own clothing. She was an amazing seamstress and made clothes for her children as well.
Eunisa was an intelligent and witty woman. She was loved by all and brought happiness and laughter to everyone she encountered. When she went shopping, she had fun telling everyone that she was one of "James Bond's Girls." She loved animals, especially her pet dogs and cats. What she loved most was spending time with her family and friends.
Eunisa leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael W. Bond and his wife Nancy, and Susan D. Drennan and her husband Mark; granddaughter, Hallie (Drennan) Pollard and her husband Randy; great-grandsons, Hudson W. Pollard and Noah Younker; one great-granddaughter on the way; brother, John Ford, Jr. of Annapolis, MO; sister, Lana Gaston of Niantic, CT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mamie; husband, William; her siblings, Carmen Rudanovich, Carnelia Lueddecke, Dee Ford, Don Ford, Darwin Ford, Darlene Ford, Elvera Creek, Doretta Ford and Wayne Ford.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Eunisa's family and friends at a later date.
