Eva Carroll Obituary

Eva Mae Carroll, born on June 13, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience that will be cherished forever. Her life was a testament to unwavering faith and boundless generosity, illuminating the paths of many who had the privilege of knowing her.

Eva's professional journey began modestly at F.W. Woolworth, where she worked from 1950 until 1951. She then ventured into the education sector, making a profound impact as a lunch room manager at the Louisville Board of Education from 1968 to 1971. Her journey in education continued at Evangel Christian School, where she served as school secretary from 1973 to 1976. Eva was also involved with the Bullitt County Board of Education as a substitute teacher from 1978 to 1980, further contributing to the enriching lives of young minds.

For ten years, from 1977 to 1987, Eva served as the church secretary at Trinity Assembly of God in Shepherdsville, KY, where her devotion to her community shone brightly. Additionally, she worked diligently for Dr. Don W. Bowman, DMD, from 1988 until her retirement, showcasing her unwavering industriousness and commitment as a Medical Secretary.

An honor roll student, Eva graduated from DuPont Manual High School in 1952, and in 1988, she proudly earned her diploma from Louisville College-Medical and Dental Secretary, proving that education knows no age limits—she returned to college at the age of 55, demonstrating her unyielding spirit and thirst for knowledge.

Eva possessed an incredible blend of talents and hobbies that enriched her life and those around her. She was a gifted cook, a skillful seamstress who lovingly crafted clothing for her children, and an artist who painted beautifully. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth, as she graciously hosted many missionaries and evangelists, making them feel at home. Music was another passion, and Eva’s skill as a pianist, playing both by ear and sight, brought joy to countless gatherings.

Eva's strong and humble nature was complemented by her quick wit and an infectious love for laughter. She thrived in her roles, devotedly supporting her husband's ministry while managing her household of six—at times seven, alongside her mother-in-law. Her legacy as an ordained minister since 1971 is marked by her profound commitment to Bible teaching and prayer, enriching the spiritual lives of others through her guidance and care.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Reverend Jack W. Carroll; daughter, Deborah Sue Carroll; her parents, Edward Joseph Robitaille and Carrie Robitaille.

Eva leaves behind to cherish her memories; children, Reverend Charles Allen (Jan) Carroll, Rebecca Ann (Mike) Madden and Janetta Carroll; grandchildren, Angela (Lee) Stewart, Anna (Randall) Powell, Paul (Kim) Radford, Michelle Carroll, Michael (Abegail Ara) Carroll, Tommy Krages and Shelby (Dustin) Gross and great-grandchildren, Abigaile, Gavin, Shaun, Zenaida, Charlie and Quinn.

The loss of Eva Mae Carroll is deeply felt, especially during the visitation and funeral service, which will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, on December 17, 2025. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM, concluding with a time to celebrate a life well-lived. Eva will be laid to rest with her husband, Jack at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central with the graveside starting at 2:30pm.

Eva leaves behind a profound imprint on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her loving spirit and unwavering faith will forever surround and inspire those she touched, reminding us all of the beauty found in loyalty, devotion, and love.
