Eva Cranfield, 96, of Burlington, NC passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on April 16, 2025. A native of Stuttgart, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1956.
Eva is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Hilliard (Robert), and Michele Cochran (Duane), two grandsons, Bryan Craft (Alexius) and Brett Craft (Melissa), and two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Craft and Kendall Craft. She is also survived by one brother, Walter Gehring of Dettenheim, Germany.
She was a dedicated employee and retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery after over 20 years of service in the payroll department. Eva was a supportive and dearly loved mother who worked hard to provide for her family. She loved trips to the beach every summer and visiting her brothers and sisters in Germany. At home, she especially enjoyed cheering on the UNC Tarheels as well as reading, needlework, and daily walks around Willowbrook Park.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
We would like to give sincere thanks to the Hospice nurses and aides who gave such gentle and loving care to our Mom in her final months.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Burlington or Burlington Animal Services. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Eva, please visit our Tree Store.
