Eva J. Fenech

EVA JANE FENECH, age 95. March 31, 1928 to December 5, 2023.
Eva was born in Attard, Malta, Europe, on March 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Carmel and Grace Chetcuti. Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emanuel.
She is the cherished mother of Maria, Charles, and Joseph (Samantha).
Loving "Nana" to Emanuel, Bekeza, Yusiff, Brandyn, Jesse, and Brooklyn. Proud "Nana Kbira" (great-grandmother) to ten grandchildren, Chloe, Amani, Olivia, Easton, Cameron, Emma, Ryleigh, Ezra, and Journey.
Dearest sister of eight siblings, Noel, Mariano, Gaylano, Noel, Rita Fenech, Carmena Caruana, and Victoria.
Eva immigrated from Malta to Canada in 1960. She married Emanuel Fenech in October 1962 and moved to Southwest Detroit and became an American citizen. She was a devoted mother while also working for the Detroit Public Library for 18 years. They lived the American dream of working hard while raising a family, instilling spiritual faith, and providing an excellent opportunity for their children to attend private school and attain success in America. Eva loved food and making everything from scratch. On Saturdays, Mom and Dad would spend the entire day together baking pastizzi, stuffat tal-fenek, Imqarrun il-forn, and other Maltese dishes for the family to enjoy. Home cooking was always on the menu and always more than enough in case guests stopped by.
We loved you so much and will miss you dearly, Mom.
Visitation will be held at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Rd, Farmington, on Sunday, December 10, from 2-8 pm, with a Scripture Reading at 6:30 pm.
Eva's Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd, Farmington, on Monday morning, December 11, with visitation at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights.
