Eva Porcelli Obituary

Eva was married for 59 years to the late Command Sergeant Major Peter V. Porcelli (CSM, USA Ret). The couple lived in Heidelberg, Germany; Camp Custer, Michigan; Camp Crowder, Missouri; Camp Zama, Japan; and Augusta, Georgia (Fort Gordon), where they spent over 40 years of their lives. In 2002 the couple moved to Stockbridge, Georgia to be close to family.
Eva was involved in numerous activities her entire life. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Augusta and belonged to the German American and Italian American clubs. She also served as a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of the NCO Wives Club, serving as its president at numerous locations. Eva's hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, painting wooden folk-art figures, ceramics and playing bingo. She had a fantastic sense of humor and was fun to be around.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her son, Peter F. Porcelli (COL, USA Ret) (Marcia West Porcelli), Claudia Porcelli Lee (James M. Lee, LtCol, USMC Ret); 5 grandchildren: Peter F. Porcelli, Jr (Tiffany Porcelli), Meredith Porcelli Adams (Jonathan Adams), Matthew P. Porcelli (Elise Allen Porcelli), Melissa Porcelli Uribe, and Elizabeth Lee Harvey (Jake Harvey); 11 great grandchildren, and 11 nephews and nieces. Eva will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass to honor Evas life will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, beginning 10:30 AM at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 591 Flint River Rd, Jonesboro, GA 30238. Interment will follow the service at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. Flowers will be accepted at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Home, 2580 GA-42, McDonough, Georgia 30253 for the service.
