Eva M. Small

Eva M. Small, age 96, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Columbia Cottage in Hanover on January 29, 2026.

Eva was born in Adams County, PA on October 17, 1929 and was the youngest daughter of the late Norbert and Lucinda (Gallagher) Small. She graduated from Delone Catholic High School Class of 1947 and worked for Sam Miller Insurance for 20 years. Eva later retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue after 27 years of service and enjoyed volunteering for Hanover Hospital for over 21 years. She was also a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover where she volunteered at St. Vincent's School and in the thrift shop.

Eva is survived by her nieces and nephews Louise Haines, Gerald Gebhart, Raymond Gebhart, Michael Gebhart, Daniel Gebhart, Joyce Kopp, Deborah Grove, and Marjory Houser; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Jane Gebhart, Joanna Wollet, and Viola Smith; as well as two infant siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover, PA 17331. Interment will follow the Mass at Conewago Chapel Cemetery in Hanover. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Columbia Cottage for the loving care they provided to Eva.
