Eva Auerbach Smith ObituaryEAST LIVERPOOL – Eva Auerbach Smith, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 101 years old.
Born in East Liverpool, February 10, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Phenning Auerbach. She was a proud member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1942 and remained active with her class throughout the years. Eva was a member of the Alumni Association and rarely missed an Olde Guard luncheon. A faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish, she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and contributed her time wherever she was needed. She enjoyed bowling in several local leagues, was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and loved to travel. Of all her pastimes, bingo was her favorite. Above all, Eva cherished her family, which now spans five generations.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana Smith of Calcutta, and three sons, Donald L. Smith and his wife, Marilyn, of East Liverpool, Michael R. Smith and his wife, Laura, of East Liverpool, and Tony Smith and his wife, Nancy, of Lisbon. There are 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Smith, whom she married June 17, 1943. She was also preceded by six sisters, Mary Russell, Ann Watkin, Elizabeth Wurzel, Kate Prodonovich, Margaret Marshall, and Dorothy Quiring, and two brothers, John Auerbach and George Anthony "Tony" Auerbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, November 14th, at Holy Trinity Parish, Fr. Bala Marneni presiding. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
