Beth Bobalik Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Nov. 2, 2025.
Beth E. Bobalik, a remarkable wife, mother, and educator of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully at Calcutta Health Care Center surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 24, 1954, in East Liverpool, Beth was the daughter of Wilbur and Roberta Woods Lucas. Beth dedicated her life to education, retiring in May 2011 after many impactful years as a schoolteacher with the East Liverpool City District. She graduated from East Liverpool High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1973. Beth earned her teaching degree from Kent State University in 1977. A devoted Catholic, Beth converted at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in East Liverpool, where she began her teaching career. Beth was formerly an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edgar "Skip" Hull, Beth is survived by her loving husband, John Bobalik, whom she married on December 6, 1986; her daughter, Meredith Bobalik of East Liverpool; and her son, Andrew (Mary Richardson) Bobalik of Pickerington, OH. Her legacy will continue through her brother, Lee (Janet) Lucas of East Liverpool, her sister-in-law, Katherine Hull of Salem, OH, her brother-in-law, Steve (Deb Zorn) Bobalik of Austintown, OH, her sister-in-law, Mary Sue Bobalik of Baden, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews who cherish the memories they created together. Beth had many childhood friendships that flourished and endured long throughout her lifetime, which brought her such fulfillment and joy. Beth will be remembered fondly as having a well-known appreciation of live music. She was a Wednesday night regular at Casa de Emanuel to support many of the tri-state area's local musicians with those dearest to her. Beth was a devoted fan of Pittsburgh professional sports teams and of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She cherished going to games with those important to her and by sharing in the experience together. She enjoyed hobbies such as playing golf and tennis, as well as reading and family vacations. She was happiest while making memories and spending quality time with her family and friends. The family wishes to thank Calcutta Health Care Center and SouthernCare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the East Liverpool Educators Association or the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. Father Bill Matheny of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish will preside over Private Catholic Funeral Rites at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, West Virginia. Beth's impact on the lives she touched will be felt for a long time.
