Evelyn F. Gibbins-Henry, 102, of Jones, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025.
Born on June 1st 1923 Evelyn lived a long and joyful life fueled with kindness, intelligence, a lot of sass and humor. She lived through times most of us can only read about in textbooks. Her stories, laughter, and her gentle hands- those are the memories many of us will carry on for forever. She taught us the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the beauty of life.
She spent many years working at Tinker air force base as a professional aircraft painter. After retiring while living in Pampa, Texas, she had a farm full of chickens, donkeys, and a peacock. Every year she would take a trip in a horse drawn wagon, "just like the good old days". and she enjoyed time with her family and most importantly her animals.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Gibbins, daughters Joann Vinyard & Polly Smith & many other beloved family members. She is Survived by her Grandson Terry Vinyard and wife April Vinyard, Granddaughter Karla Briggs, Great granddaughters Chelsea Briggs, Cortnea Locke and husband Marcus Locke, Nicole Godwin, and Lindsey Godwin-Wright. Great Great grandchildren- Dallis Locke, Conner Cline, BentLee Locke, Tally Arnold, Jaxton Glover, Easton Glover, Oaklynn Glover, Deegan Glover, Elias Tafoya, Jazzmyn Miller, Marcus Magee, Caden Magee, Taylor Choate, Alyssa Stephens and Holly Godwin.
On behalf of the family we would like to thank all for the thoughts and prayers and a special thank you to all the healthcare workers that cared for her. We would ask if you would like to send flowers to have them sent to Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home in Midwest city, ok.
