Evelyn Mae Mefferd

Evelyn Mae Mefferd, 78, passed away on March 26, 2025 in Guthrie, OK. Evelyn was born June 21, 1946, in Guthrie, OK to Evelyn Ione Dodd and Harold Dean Phillips. In 1948 her mother was remarried to Sidney Bruce Neuner who raised her.
Evelyn grew up in Guthrie, OK where she attended school, on December 22, 1962 at the age of 16 she married George Hopkins and together in 1963 she had her first born Sydnye. After divorcing she met the love of her life, JR Mefferd and the two were married on July 21, 1968, together they had Julia in 1969 and Johnny in 1971. Their daughter Dorothy joined the family in 1970. Evelyn's first love was her family. She was always devoted to each and every one of them and attended as many activities as she possibly could. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to watch her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play ball and will forever have the best seat in the house. She loved to cook and crochet. She was self employed most of her life, she owned an oilfield business with her husband JR, helped run the family farm, was a bar owner and her most prized work was with the flowers she designed as the owner Crescent Floral and gifts.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother in law Kenneth Bock and one grandson Jordin Ray Norton.
She is survived by her four children, three daughters Dorothy Crowder and husband Jeff of Hackett, Arkansas, Sydnye Steen of Edmond, Oklahoma, Julie Norton and husband Mohannad Bani Nasur of Guthrie, Oklahoma and one son Johnny Mefferd and wife Carrie of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Sister Alma Bock of Angel Fire, New Mexico. 11 grandchildren; Jeffery Crowder (Amy), Crystal Buffington (Shawn), Tara Willson (Travis), Max, Mollie, and Megan Mefferd, Nezar, Abood, Yousef, Mohannad and Ahmad Bani Nasur, and eight great-grandchildren; Eliegh Crowder (Vivian), Madilyn, Carter, and Hagen Willson, Lindsey, MacKenzie, Addie and Holly Crowder. One nephew Jeffrey Bock and multiple family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in Guthrie, OK with Leon Hoover officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held before the services on Friday at 9:00 A.M.
