Everett Cleo Butler, 86, of Braggs, Oklahoma, passed away on August 2, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. A loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many, Everett's life was marked by devotion to family, hard work, and a generous spirit.
Born at home on April 8, 1939, in Hulbert, Oklahoma, Everett was the son of Perry Butler and Minnie Bell Butler (McCoy). From a young age, Everett showed a remarkable talent for working with his hands. He became a skilled automotive and diesel mechanic, known for his ability to fix just about anything. Creative and innovative, he also excelled in carpentry and drywall, and enjoyed carving wood in his spare time.
Everett's passions extended beyond his trades-he loved to fish, play pool, hunt, and occasionally try his luck gambling. Above all, Everett was a good man who was always willing to help others. He cherished his family deeply and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. His warm personality and generous nature earned him the love and respect of many.
He is survived by his children: Floyd Earl Butler, Rebecca Kay Ingram, Melinda Belle Drum and husband Johnny, Michael Butler, daughter-in-law Debbie Butler, and Little John Butler; grandchildren: Mikala Baucom, Angela Anderson and husband Joe, Carrie Butler, Matthew Drum, Shea Drum and wife Sarah, Renee' Gafford and husband Caleb, Leah Butler, and Cameron Butler and wife Alyson; and great-grandchildren: Nathan, Brandon, Thomas, Chloe, Jaxon, Avery, and Beau. He is also survived by his sisters, Cleda Raines and Dianne Hughes, several beloved nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Everett was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genella Butler; his daughter, Eva Gene; his parents, Perry and Minnie Bell Butler; and his siblings, Perry, John, Doug, Earl Wayne, Cora, and Bill.
Everett's life will be celebrated at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Porter Civic Center, located at 529 Main Street, Porter, OK, 74454. Services in care of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Everett, please visit our Tree Store.
